Birds eye view of The Chocolate Factory.
The painting was unveiled on the day the Olympic torch passed Wood Green. The lovely elderly couple who where the main subject in the painting, where presented with a print of the painting after the ceremony.
It all started one cold wet grey day when I was walking into the chocolate factory, in front of me were this couple huddles together, holding hands and walking up the path toward the car park.
I couldn’t tell who was holding who up, when I eventually ask them to pose for some photos, I found that they have been visiting the chocolate factory’s restaurant Mosaica every weekday at noon for the past 15 years. This inspired me to create this painting which also includes a few other familiar faces of the Chocolate Factory; like Steven Gregory (the artist) and also Labrinth (the singer) who has been coming to the music studios for about 4 years.
The Chocolate Factory is such a hub of artistic activity.
